#MeToo and The Rise of the Victim Archetype

The stats are staggering, 1 in4 women, 1 in 6 men.

This is nothing new, what is new is the changing culture and the coming of age of the #MeToo movement.

Victims are coming forward and being heard.  And its not stopping.

As an Archetype, the Victim is all about personal empowerment.  According to Caroline Myss in her brilliant book Sacred Contracts, we all have this archetype. Its purpose is to teach us self empowerment.  Where are you strong in your life and where do you give away your power?  We look at this archetype through all the major houses or areas of our lives: our ego, what we value most, communication, family, creativity, career and every day life, key relationships, what we covet from others, spirituality, highest potential, soul and global communities, and the Great Mystery, what is unknown and part of our collective unconscious.

When we are actual victims of sexual, emotional, and/or physical trauma, we feel powerless.

We are not powerless.

The Victim Archetype teaches us to connect with and regain that power.

The soul is always stronger than the body.

We are more powerful than we could ever imagine.

Out of that strength comes compassion and empathy for others.

May it heal our planet and our world.
